This project involved building a clean, functional website for an author who wanted a simple way for readers to purchase her book. The platform supports online access and downloadable versions, with a layout that reflects her brand style and keeps the experience straightforward for users.
Challenges
The main challenge was designing a purchase flow that handled two formats - online access and downloadable content, without complicating the user journey. I built the backend myself, despite having minimal prior backend experience, to manage secure access and payment verification. The layout had to remain minimal yet present key content clearly, requiring careful UI structuring. Integrating Paystack posed another hurdle, as the client lacked a CAC, so I worked within the starter plan to enable both NGN and USD payments while maintaining a seamless checkout experience.
My Contributions
I executed the entire project end to end. I handled the design, development, integration, and setup of the purchase and access structure. All decisions, from layout direction to implementation details, were completed independently, ensuring a consistent vision throughout the project.
